The Fantastic Four: First Steps Video Introduces Team’s Surprising MVP

Marvel Studios has shared another The Fantastic Four: First Steps video for the highly anticipated Marvel Cinematic Universe reboot of the beloved Marvel Comics team. The movie is currently slated to arrive in theaters on July 25, 2025.

“Set against the vibrant backdrop of a 1960s-inspired, retro-futuristic world, Marvel Studios’ The Fantastic Four: First Steps introduces Marvel’s First Family — Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic, Sue Storm/Invisible Woman, Johnny Storm/Human Torch and Ben Grimm/The Thing as they face their most daunting challenge yet,” reads the official synopsis. “Forced to balance their roles as heroes with the strength of their family bond, they must defend Earth from a ravenous space god called Galactus (Ralph Ineson) and his enigmatic Herald, Silver Surfer. And if Galactus’ plan to devour the entire planet and everyone on it weren’t bad enough, it suddenly gets very personal.”

The Fantastic Four: First Steps video provides fans with a brief introduction to one of the team’s most valuable members in the form of H.E.R.B.I.E., who is the team’s loyal and trusted robot. The character was also created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby. The video gives us an idea of what H.E.R.B.I.E does for the team, as they depend on him on a daily basis. The movie will be led by franchise newcomers Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic, Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm/The Invisible Woman, Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm/ Human Torch, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm/The Thing.

The Fantastic Four: First Steps is directed by Matt Shakman, who previously helmed all nine episodes of the WandaVision miniseries. Additional cast members include Natasha Lyone (Poker Face), Julia Garner (Ozark) as the Silver Surfer, and Ralph Ineson (Harry Potter) as Galactus, along with John Malkovich (Places in the Heart), Paul Walter Hauser (Black Bird), and Natasha Lyonne (The Russian Doll) in undisclosed roles. Before the rights reverted back to Marvel Studios, the titular team was previously adapted into live-action by 20th Century Fox twice. Their first iteration spawn two movies, which starred Chris Evans as the Human Torch.
