Despite a failed meeting in 2023, Marvel Studios is reportedly looking to enlist The Bear star Jeremy Allen White to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe. According to an insider, the Emmy-winning actor is being “eyed for a Marvel role.”
At the moment, White is currently set to make his debut in another Disney-owned major franchise, as he will next be seen starring in Lucasfilm’s highly anticipated Star Wars movie The Mandalorian and Grogu. In the film, White will be playing Rotta the Hutt, who’s being described as the son of crime lord Jabba the Hutt. The movie will also star Pedro Pascal, Sigourney Weaver, and Jonny Coyne. Prior to his Star Wars debut in 2026, he will first star in the upcoming Bruce Springsteen biopic Deliver Me From Nowhere, which is scheduled to arrive in theaters on October 24, 2025.
Why did Jeremy Allen White’s original meeting with Marvel fail?
In a previous interview, White recalled his original meeting with Marvel, admitting that it didn’t went well because he had “an attitude” while talking with the executives.
“I had a meeting for a kind of Marvel-y movie, and I had an attitude,” He said. “I think I played it all wrong.” White said he told the executives, “Tell me about why should I do your movie,” which was not received well. “They were like, ‘F—k you,’” he continued. “And I was like, ‘Right on.’”

However, despite this, he made it clear that he’s perfectly content with starring in independent movies, or as he put it, “$25 million drama that I think most actors want to make.” He added, “I’m just buying myself more time and being able to do what I really love to do. And that’s very much how I view these things.”
