Popular Wonder Woman Pick Tells Fans How to Get Her into the DCU

Andor star Adria Arjona is more than willing to appease the superhero fandom by being the DC Universe‘s Wonder Woman.

The actor expressed interest in playing Princess Diana of Themyscira earlier this week at the Mexico City premiere of A Minecraft Movie. While signing autographs, she was asked to respond to the rumor that she is being eyed to play Wonder Woman in the DCU.

What did Adria Arjona say about possibly playing the DCU Wonder Woman?

After literally shrugging the question off, Arjona gestured to her phone, telling the question asker to “write about it [to DC Studios head James Gunn to] help me [get cast]” (loosely translated via ComicBookMovie).

Arjona has been a popular fan pick for the role of Wonder Woman in the DCU for a couple of years now. The actor, who began her career with roles in Person of Interest, Narcos, and True Detective, is best known for playing mechanic/black market dealer Bix Caleen in the Disney+ Star Wars series Andor. She also appeared in Sony’s Spider-Man Universe movie Morbius and the Netflix action flick 6 Underground.

However, Arjona does have some competition for the high-profile role, as fans are also interested in seeing Shazam! star Grace Caroline Currey as the DCU’s Wonder Woman. Currey — who played Mary Bromfield/Mary Marvel in the DC Extended Universe movies Shazam! (2019) an Shazam! Fury of the Gods (2023) — recently addressed the Wonder Woman fan casting while aboard the San Diego Comic-Con: The Cruise.

“That’s a loaded question. That’s been very nice to see people say that. I think getting to be in the universe at all has been such a lottery kind of feeling that I don’t know if I got to come back in any capacity, that’d be wild,” she remarked in March 2025.

Gal Gadot portrayed Wonder Woman in the DCEU, although she is not expected to reprise the role for the DCU. So far, Gunn has not announced a new project featuring the DC Trinity member, although a prequel series set on Themyscira before Wonder Woman’s birth, titled Paradise Lost, is in development.
