Speaking on SiriusXM’s Jess Cagle Show, via ComicBook, Levy addressed the numerous rumors that have appeared online over the past several months regarding Deadpool 3’s casting. While Levy didn’t specifically say which rumors were true and which were false, he did note that “some of them” are indeed accurate.
“I love the proliferation of casting rumors on the internet, because I never have to say what’s real and what’s fantasy, so I’m just going to go with the very cliche ‘no comment’ on all things casting [with] Deadpool 3,” Levy said. “I will say, we’re lucky on this one. There’s certainly — is this an answer? A lot of the internet rumors are completely false, but some of them aren’t.”
One of the more common Deadpool 3 rumors suggests Taylor Swift may be playing the role of Dazzler in the movie, especially after Levy was recently spotted at a Kansas City Chiefs versus New York Jets football game with Ryan Reynolds, Hugh Jackman, and Swift.
“They sure are loud,” Levy told TheWrap about the Swift rumors. “I’m going across the board. ‘No comment’ because that’s a double whammy. That’s Taylor-related. And it’s MCU-related. I’m no dummy. You’re going to have to wait and see.”
Other common rumors include Patrick Stewart returning to play Charles Xavier, Ian McKellen reprising his role as Magneto, Channing Tatum taking on the role of Gambit, Ben Affleck reappearing as Daredevil, and more.
Who is confirmed to be starring in Deadpool 3?
While none of these rumors have been confirmed by Levy or Marvel Studios at this time, Deadpool 3 will see Jennifer Garner reprise her role as Elektra Natchios. Joining her, Reynolds, and Jackman are Morena Baccarin as Vanessa, Brianna Hildebrand as Negasonic Teenage Warhead, Leslie Uggams as Blind Al, Karan Soni as Dopinder, Stefan Kapičić as Colossus, Shioli Kutsuna as Yukio, and Rob Delaney as Peter. Emma Corrin and Matthew Macfadyen have also been cast in undisclosed roles.
Originally scheduled to release on May 3, 2024, Deadpool 3 is reportedly without a current release date due to the ongoing actors strike for better wages, protection against artificial intelligence, and more.
