Marvel Releases New Character Posters For Thor: Love and Thunder

In less than a month, Thor: Love and Thunder will bring back a handful of characters from the previous three films of the franchise and introduce several fresh faces as well. Now, Marvel has set the stage for their upcoming adventure with a vibrant collection of new promotional images. The studio has released seven new character posters for Love and Thunder spotlighting all of the film’s major players. You can view them all in the gallery below.

The first poster shows Hemsworth’s Thor proudly wielding Stormbreaker while wearing brand new armor. But he isn’t the only thunder god set to make a splash in theaters next month. The sequel will also mark Natalie Portman’s return to the fold as Jane Foster, who now wields Mjolnir as the Mighty Thor just like her comic book counterpart. Together, they will team up against Christian Bale’s Gorr the God Butcher, whose own poster cloaks the villain in darkness and shows him armed with his trusty Necrosword.

Unfortunately, the new series doesn’t include a poster for the Guardians of the Galaxy, who appear in the sequel as well. But some of the artwork highlights other members of Team Thor, including Tessa Thompson’s Valkyrie, who became the new King of Asgard in Avengers: Endgame. Korg, voiced by writer/director Taika Waititi, also gets a poster, as does the Greek god Zeus, who is played by MCU newcomer Russell Crowe.

However, the most surprising additions to the cast are Toothgrinder and Toothgnasher. In the comics, these two Asgardian goats pulled Thor’s flying chariot, a role they will also fill when Love and Thunder premieres in a few weeks. As a bonus, they each get their own emojis on social media.

Thor: Love and Thunder hits theaters on July 8. Tickets for the film are on sale now.
