New Thor: Love and Thunder Promo Confirms Ticket Pre-Sale Date
It’s that time again. Exactly one month from today, Thor: Love and Thunder will arrive in theaters and presumably light up the box office. But fans will soon be able to get a jump on securing their tickets ahead of time. Marvel has just released a new Love and Thunder promo announcing that tickets for the sequel will officially go on sale next Monday, June 13.
The new TV spot finds Chris Hemsworth’s thunder god promising “a classic Thor adventure,” complete with old friends and deadly new enemies. Among other highlights, the clip reveals new scenes featuring the Guardians of the Galaxy (including Star-Lord, Rocket, Drax, and Nebula), who were all under the impression that they would be taking a long vacation after dealing with Thanos in Avengers: Endgame. Unfortunately, they’re forced to break out their arsenal of plasma rifles when Thor pits them against an unseen cosmic threat.

Needless to say, Marvel usually does well with advance ticket sales. Last fall, Spider-Man: No Way Home became Fandango’s strongest first-day seller since Endgame debuted in 2019. And earlier this year, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness sold more tickets in its own first day than any other 2022 release, beating the record previously set by The Batman. Of course, Benedict Cumberbatch’s latest go-round as the Master of the Mystic Arts promised an interdimensional journey bursting at the seams with surprise cameos. Conversely, Love and Thunder seems more committed to showcasing Taika Waititi’s quirky directing style and Hemsworth’s comic timing. So we’ll just have to wait and see how the new film stacks up against Stephen Strange’s new adventure.
Thor: Love and Thunder will hit theaters on July 8.
