Dr. Strange Fights Gargantos in a New Multiverse of Madness Clip

After facing both Dormammu and Thanos, Stephen Strange should really be famous across the cosmos. But clearly, Gargantos isn’t familiar with the Master of the Mystic Arts. Ahead of its release next week, Marvel (via IMDb) has debuted the first Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness clip, which finds Stephen squaring off against his newest adversary.

By now, the MCU’s New Yorkers have seen their city destroyed enough times to know that when cars start flying, it’s best to not ask any questions and just run away screaming. But in this case, a bus appears to be floating by itself. So when Doctor Strange arrives on the scene and casts a spell to better understand the situation, he’s shocked to discover a giant monster wreaking havoc in the middle of the road.

Strange’s battle with Gargantos has featured prominently in several trailers and TV spots over the past few months. However, the clip gives us a more complete picture of their fight. Using his mystical abilities, Strange cuts the bus into pieces, which he then uses to sever the monster’s tentacles. It also looks like this scene depicts one of Strange’s first team-ups with America Chavez, played by MCU newcomer Xochitl Gomez. As a bonus, the clip even gives us our first taste of the score composed by Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man trilogy collaborator, Danny Elfman.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will hit theaters on May 6.
