Zack Snyder Shares Photos From Rebel Moon’s First Day of Filming
While there are still fans who call for Zack Snyder’s return to the DC Extended Universe, the director seems to be more than satisfied to work on his original films for Netflix. His next movie, Rebel Moon, is a sci-fi story with an impressive cast. Now, the film is finally shooting, and Snyder has shared a few pictures from the first day of production. Rebel Moon’s.
The primary picture from Snyder’s tweet is the first look at Djimon Hounsou as General Titus. There are also two pictures of a space ship exterior that combines a practical set with some CGI elements.

Specific details about Hounsou’s character are scarce, but presumably General Titus is under the command of the tyrant known as Belisarius (Rupert Friend). Sofia Boutella will star in the film as Kora, a young woman who lives on a peaceful colony planet. When Belisarius’ forces threaten her home, the woman leaves her world behind to find allies who can help her people. Essentially, it’s the same basic plot as Seven Samurai, The Magnificent Seven, and Battle Beyond the Stars. The key difference is that Snyder has plans beyond a single film.
Ray Fisher is also starring in the film as a resistance fighter named Blood Axe, along with Ingvar Sigurdsson as Hagen. The movie will also feature Charlie Hunnam, Jena Malone, Michiel Huisman, Corey Stoll, Cary Elwes, Stuart Martin, Alfonso Herrera, Bae Doona, and Charlotte Maggi. However, their specific roles haven’t been revealed yet.
Snyder is directing Rebel Moon from a script he co-wrote with Shay Hatten and Kurt Johnstad. Netflix hasn’t set a premiere date for the film yet.
