Late last year, Chris Pine was the first actor signed to star in the upcoming Dungeons & Dragons reboot film. Now, the adaptation of the popular role playing game has two more cast members.
Via The Hollywood Reporter, Justice Smith and Michelle Rodriguez have closed their deals to join the film. THR also notes that details about their characters have yet to be revealed.
Smith is best known for his starring roles in Detective Pikachu and All the Bright Places. He will also reprise his role as Franklin Webb in Jurassic World: Dominion. Rodriguez currently stars in The Fast and the Furious films. Her genre roles also include Resident Evil and Lost.
Game Night directors Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley are slated to write and direct Dungeons & Dragons. Paramount Pictures and Hasbro/eOne are producing the film. However, it’s unclear if the film will adapt any of the preexisting D&D lore for the big screen, or if it will be an original take on the tabletop blockbuster.
Dungeons & Dragons will hit theaters on May 27, 2022.
