Report: Jamie Foxx’s Electro May Return In Spider-Man 3

The mid-credits scene of Spider-Man: Far From Home brought back J.K. Simmons from the original Spider-Man films to play J. Jonah Jameson. But Simmons may not be the only Spidey veteran in the next MCU Spider-Man movie. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Jamie Foxx is in negotiations to reprise his role as Electro from Amazing Spider-Man 2.

Far From Home teased the reality of Marvel’s multiverse, which will also be more fully explored in the Doctor Strange sequel. But if Foxx’s return pans out, it also lends further credence to rumors of alternate Spider-Man universes for the live-action films. It’s also possible that the MCU’s Electro will be a revamp of Foxx’s character, rather than the same incarnation.

Marvel and Sony have yet to comment on the report. Currently, Tom Holland, Zendaya, Marisa Tomei, Jacob Batalon, and Tony Revolori are the only cast members likely to return for Spider-Man 3. However, other Spider-Man: Homecoming and Far From Home characters could be added as well.

The next Spider-Man MCU movie is scheduled to hit theaters on December 17, 2021. But that release date will probably change.

What do you think about the potential return of Jamie Foxx’s Electro? Should it be the same guy from the Andrew Garfield film? Or a different incarnation? Let us know in the comment section below!
