What happened in Blue Lock Chapter 342?
The previous chapter, titled “Recapture,” begins with Blue Lock’s Shidou taking the pass from Karasu. Isagi is shocked to see that he was Karasu’s secret weapon. Shidou maniacally announces to make the goal, while France’s Charles admires him, recalling playing against Shidou in the Neo Egoist League.
Karasu notes that they need to score before Hugo catches up. He says that Shidou’s energy can influence players around him and believes the only way to play with him is to adapt to his style or oppose him. Meanwhile, Isagi wonders to himself why he never bonded with Shidou. He realizes that Karaus has a sense of balance that can resist Shidou’s influence, which is what the team needs.
Karaus states that because of his calm demeanor, he can work with Shidou. He loves that feeling because it will help him beat Isagi. Meanwhile, Shidou passes French players as Karasu launches the ball towards him. But before he can receive it, Loki catches up, saying that he knows Shidou’s bad news since he was his mentor.
Unfazed, Shidou says that it’s a 50-50 chance that one of them will receive the pass, and whoever gets it first wins. Suddenly, Baraou jumps over them and takes the pass. He makes the goal, tying the match with a score of 2-2. Isagi is taken aback that Barou has given up on him and sees Shidou as his replacement. He also wonders if Blue Lock is falling into Karasu’s hands.
At the dugout, France coach Rodin calls Hugo and Loki and asks them how they expect to win the World Cup if they lose the match. He tells them to show off their talent, which they agree to. They return to the field as the match commences. Hugo thinks that meeting Loki was part of his destiny.
