Disney+ usually carries most major Marvel Cinematic Universe films on the platform, but Tom Holland‘s web-slinging trilogy, including the widely discussed Spider-Man: No Way Home, is not currently available to stream on Disney+. With the trailer for the fourth installment in the Spider-Man franchise now released, fans are eager to know why the film is missing from the platform and where it can be watched instead.
Why Spider-Man: No Way Home isn’t streaming on Disney+
Spider-Man: No Way Home is part of the MCU, but there are still distribution complications that make it unavailable for streaming on Disney+.
The primary reason the Tom Holland film is missing from Marvel’s primary streaming platform is a deal that dates back to 1998. At that time, Sony Pictures acquired the film rights to Spider-Man. Since then, Sony has produced multiple film series featuring the character, including one starring Tobey Maguire and another led by Andrew Garfield.
With Sony holding the rights, Marvel was unable to introduce the character into the MCU until Captain America: Civil War. In 2015, Marvel and Sony reached an agreement that allowed Spider-Man to join the MCU, with Marvel involved in production while Sony handled aspects such as distribution.
Because Sony distributes the films, these titles are generally not available on Disney+, even though many other MCU films are available on the platform.
However, some MCU films featuring the character, such as Avengers: Endgame and Captain America: Civil War, remain available to stream on Disney+.
Where to watch Spider-Man: No Way Home
As of now, Spider-Man: No Way Home, along with the other two films in the trilogy, is available to stream on Starz in the United States. Fans can also access the film through the Apple TV Starz channel or the Starz app on Roku.
In addition, the film is available for rent or purchase on major digital platforms.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day will premiere on July 31, 2026, in theatres.
