Rumors are swirling that Marvel might recast Tatiana Maslany as She-Hulk for upcoming Marvel projects. The speculation stems from her clashes with Disney over several matters in the past few years.
Here are the details on the speculation.
Is Tatiana Maslany leaving Marvel and will She-Hulk get recast?
Currently, there is no official announcement from Tatiana Maslany or Marvel about the actress leaving the studio.
Maslany, known for starring as She-Hulk in Marvel’s She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, has publicly clashed with Disney on multiple occasions.
During the 2023 SAG-AFTRA strike, the Keeper actress called out Disney CEO Bob Iger, saying that he’s “completely out of touch” after he downplayed the demands of striking workers. Then, in September 2025, Maslany urged fans via Instagram story to cancel their Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN memberships after the studio indefinitely suspended Jimmy Kimmel over his controversial political remarks.
As a result, the actress might be stepping away from her role as She-Hulk in the MCU. The popular entertainment news outlet, MyTimeToShineHello, recently reposted one of their articles from last year on X, shedding light on the ongoing situation at Marvel.
The post stated, “Marvel Studios wanted to use She-Hulk in a big way for Avengers Secret Wars. The problem is that Tatiana Maslany has no interest in working for Disney. If they’re unable to convince her to return, the options are to remove the character altogether or recast the role.”
If this report proves accurate, Maslany wouldn’t be the first MCU actor that Marvel replaced. The Incredible Hulk, where Edward Norton played the titular hero, was the second film in the MCU. However, due to a combination of creative differences and other factors, the studio ultimately replaced him with Mark Ruffalo in the first Avengers movie.
It was earlier teased that her character would be appearing in Avengers: Doomsday. But there has been little information to support that claim. Now, it remains to be seen if the actress returns or not.
