It: Welcome to Derry Episode 6 Reveals Pennywise Isn’t Only Clown in Town

Following the tense ending of It: Welcome to Derry Episode 6, fans are eager to know more about Periwinkle the Clown. Here’s everything you need to know about the new clown terrorizing Derry and Hank Grogan’s fate at the end of the episode.

What happens in It: Welcome to Derry Episode 6 ending?

It: Welcome to Derry Episode 6, titled “In the Name of the Father,” ended on a cliffhanger with a racist horde arriving at the Black Spot to find Hank Grogan, as well as a closer look at Periwinkle the Clown.

The previous episode saw Hank being wrongfully sent to the Shawshank State Prison. However, the bus crashed on the way, and he managed to make his escape. Hank then hid at the Black Spot with the help of Charlotte Hanlon.

All seemed well until Clint Bowers disclosed Hank’s hiding spot to the racist white locals. The episode ends with the men arriving at the Black Spot, armed with guns and wearing unsettling Halloween masks. The grim cliffhanger potentially teases the terrible massacre at the Black Spot in the original “It” novel by Stephen King.

In the book, the racist mob set the Black Spot on fire, killing almost all the people trapped inside. However, Dick Hallorann uses his powers to get Will Hanlon out to safety, who later goes on to become the father of Mike Hanlon, a member of the original Loser’s Club.

Who is Periwinkle the Clown in It: Welcome to Derry?

Periwinkle the Clown is the alter ego of Ingrid Kersh. Episode 6 reveals Mrs. Kersh dressing up as Periwinkle, a second clown making disturbing appearances in Derry.

Previously, in It: Chapter Two, it was revealed that Mrs. Kersh was the daughter of Bob Gray, the original Pennywise the Clown. In this series, we find out what Ingrid’s true motives are and why she puts on her Periwinkle costume.

It is revealed that Mrs. Kersh is not afraid of Pennywise and only wishes to reunite with her dead father. She believes that her father, the original Pennywise, is still alive within the evil It, and will resurrect once he sees his daughter as Periwinkle. Episode 6 ends with Ingrid Kersh getting ready to face Pennywise, wearing her Periwinkle costume.
