Stranger Things Season 5, the last one in the series, is finally here with its first volume. Amidst the chaos of the big finale, the show appears to have missed out on Eduardo Franco’s Argylle. The character was pivotal in the previous season and helped establish a dynamic that was different and interesting. But the actor previously noted that he never received a call for the final season.

What happened to Argyle in Stranger Things Season 5 Vol. 1?
Argylle was introduced as Jonathan’s new friend when the entire Byers family moved to California in the fourth season of Stranger Things. The much-needed comic relief soon entered the dark world of Hawkins and played a key part throughout the fourth season.
In a surprising turn, he did not appear in Stranger Things Season 5 Volume 1 at all. There has been no mention of him and no explanation about where he is. Eduardo Franco already confirmed earlier that he never received a call to be in the show’s final season.
“I appreciate that. It’s nice to hear that there’s some sort of concern, you know what I mean? But yeah, I never got a phone call, so yeah, I think that’s it,” he confirmed on the Steve Varley Show.
On paper, Argylle not being present with the rest of the cast makes sense, as he is from California. It would make sense that he is simply not in Hawkins. But given how well his character was received, many fans would be looking for an explanation about where Argylle is.
The season is not over, which means he can still make an appearance in the second volume of the show. Even if he does not show up, there can still be some mention of where he is in the remaining episodes.
Stranger Things Season 5 Volume 1 is now streaming on Netflix.
