Why There’s No South Park 28 Episode This Week on November 5

South Park fans were left a bit confused this week when Wednesday came around and no new episode was released on November 5, even though the show’s latest episode usually hits screens every Wednesday at 10 p.m. ET.

The show has just switched things up with a new bi-weekly release schedule. So instead of weekly drops, fans will get a fresh episode every other week.

Why South Park won’t release a new episode on November 5

Instead of dropping new episodes every Wednesday, South Park is switching things up this time. The show’s now running on a bi-weekly schedule, meaning fans get a new episode every other week. So mark your calendars, South Park Season 28 Episode 3 lands on Wednesday, November 12.

This change actually started back in Season 27, when the creators decided to slow the pace and release episodes every other Wednesday. According to the latest streaming updates, that same plan follows into Season 28.

Last week, fans were all geared up for a new South Park episode on Wednesday, but that didn’t happen. Instead, Comedy Central released a special Halloween episode titled “The Woman in the Hat.” It aired on Friday, October 31, at 10 p.m.

Last week’s South Park episode kicked off with Stan’s family forced to move to Grandpa Marsh’s nursing home after Randy loses his job thanks to the government shutdown. Frustrated by how crazy his town’s gotten, Stan starts an online movement called “South Park Sucks Now.”

The new release schedule is a big deal for South Park, especially since the show is famous for its lightning-fast production. Unlike most animated series that take months, sometimes even a year, to put an episode together, South Park has always churned out scripts, animation, and edits in record time to meet deadlines.

After Friday’s special, South Park is returning to its usual schedule. Fresh episodes are set to release on November 12, November 26, and December 10 on Comedy Central. If you miss the live airing, each episode will hit Paramount+ and other streaming platforms the very next day.
