Why There’s No New Kaiju No. 8 Episode This Week

After an incredible run of episodes, fans of Kaiju No. 8 are wondering why there’s no new episode this week. Considering how the episode ended, fans were expecting to dive back into the show. However, they are disappointed that there are no new episodes this week.

Here’s why there’s no new Kaiju No. 8 Season 2 episode this week.

Why a new Kaiju No. 8 Season 2 Episode is not releasing this week

The Kaiju No. 8 Season 2 has officially ended with Episode 11, which aired on September 27, 2025. Season 2 adapted the “Kaiju Weapon Arc,” which roughly covers the chapters between 40 and 55 from the manga.

Kaiju No. 8 sets its story in a world where giant monsters, called kaiju, frequently attack cities. It is based on Naoya Matsumoto’s manga of the same name. The story follows Kafka Hibino, who has long dreamed of joining the Japanese Anti-Kaiju Defense Force (JAKDF) to fight these creatures alongside his childhood friend Mina Ashiro. However, his life takes a dramatic turn when a parasitic creature infects him, giving him the ability to transform into a humanoid kaiju. After a series of events, he earns the codename “Kaiju No. 8” as he secretly joins the JAKDF’s 3rd Division.

The Season 2 finale of Kaiju No. 8, Episode 11, delivers a dark and intense finale. It featured Kaijus attacking multiple cities in a coordinated way, showcasing their intelligence. Mina Ashiro fiercely fights and takes down multiple Kaijus. Despite being miles away from the Kaijus, she takes them out using her weapons.

However, when multiple mega kaiju emerge at different locations, the team records a fortitude score above 9. Soon, every other soldier felt overpowered by the Kaijus. Meanwhile, the analysts quickly understand that each kajius is different and is created to counter the human’s strategies. And just as all seems lost, Kafka rushes into the battlefield despite being ordered not to do so. The episode ended with Kafta transforming into Kaiju No. 8.

Currently, the show makers have yet to announce a third season. But given how the show ended, there’s a high possibility that it’ll return.
