Peacemaker Season 2 isn’t slowing down, and Episode 5 has ramped things up. Chris Smith is stuck between ARGUS and Rick Flag Sr., Harcourt’s loyalty is tested, and the multiverse storyline has a more permanent resident. But tucked inside all the chaos is what happens to Red St. Wild? Does he die? Here are all the details.
Does Red St. Wild die in Peacemaker Season 2 Episode 5?
Yes, he does, and in the most brutal way possible.
After being hired by ARGUS to hunt down Eagly, whom he believed to be the mythical Primal Eagle, Wild pushes his obsession too far. Episode 4 already showed his magic-driven determination to track down Peacemaker’s feathered best friend, and in Episode 5, his mission comes to a bloody end.
Wild sets up traps, but things quickly spiral out of control when an entire flock of eagles descends. So, ultimately, Eagly is confirmed to actually be the prophesied Primal Eagle, capable of summoning and commanding others of his kind. Once Red St. Wild realizes the truth, he pleads for forgiveness, but it’s too late. At Eagly’s command, the flock tears him apart, leading to Red St. Wild’s death in Peacemaker Season 2 Episode 5.
On the surface, Red St. Wild’s storyline might feel like an odd detour. His belief in the Primal Eagle prophecy was never fully explained. But his death flips Eagly’s role on its head. Until now, Peacemaker’s pet was comic relief: goofy, loyal, and good for heartwarming moments. But now, Eagly has been revealed as a powerful, possibly mythical creature who could shape the series’s bigger DCU connections.
While Eagly’s revelation is one of the biggest, the rest of Episode 5 is packed. Peacemaker chooses to stay in an alternate dimension where his family is alive. Furthermore, Adebayo hints she can bring him back, and Harcourt’s betrayal is revealed to be a clever cover to save Chris from being killed. To top it off, the episode ties into James Gunn’s Superman (2025) with the appearance of a kaiju that links both stories together.
