The film, directed by Juan Meza-León, depicts the tragic murder of Yohualli Coatl’s father. The young Aztec boy loses him at the hands of Spanish conquistadors. In his adulthood, Coatl serves as a priest in the court of King Moctezuma II. He collaborates with his fellow clerics in the temple of Tzinacan to resist the Spanish invaders and safeguard their people. To fight back, he adopts the masked identity of the “Batman.”
