In an interview with RadioTimes, Doohan revealed what made Tyler accept Capri’s proposal while reflecting on losing his family and the fear of death.
He said, “Then he’s under his mother and Isaac’s control basically for the last three episodes. So when we kind of see him at the end, he knows he’s gonna die. He doesn’t have a master. He’s kind of lost all hope. And then it’s this one little glimmer of hope that comes from Capri’s character. So I think he’s like, What do I have to lose? Truly, I’ve lost everyone. It can’t get worse.”
For context, Tyler visits his mother and father’s graves in the finale, where he encounters Capri, who has an exciting proposal for him. She reveals that if he says yes to the offer, he doesn’t have to rely on a single mothers and masters. She offers him a support system, wherein he could live with a pack of Hydes and stay hidden. I think he’s still not fully trusting her, when we see them driving off together, because he’s been burned by older women before,” he added.
