Wednesday’s Jenna Ortega Shares What She Wants To See in Season 3

As Wednesday fans continue to speculate about how Season 3 might unfold upon its arrival, star Jenna Ortega has revealed her expectations for the upcoming season. In a recent interview, the 23-year-old opened up about the direction she wants the mystery comedy series to go in following the chaotic events of Season 2.

Jenna Ortega wants Wednesday to ‘deal with the darker side of herself’ in Season 3

While speaking with GamesRadar+ at a Los Angeles event, Ortega disclosed that she wants Wednesday Season 3 to explore the mother-daughter relationship between her titular character and Catherine Zeta-Jones’ Morticia Addams.

“I would like them [Morticia and Wednesday] to stop arguing and team up,” Ortega stated. “We’d just been talking about women banding together, and you see that a bit in the final episode, or episodes. I think we should lean into that. It’s really exciting and refreshing to see women displayed that way,” Ortega added.

Ortega also mentioned that she wants Wednesday to kick the darkness up a notch in Season 3. “I think it’s important to see Wednesday deal with the darker side of herself a little bit, too – but also never taking things too seriously. And I would like to see more death attempts between her and Pugsley. She doesn’t try to kill him enough! I want to see stuff like that,” she added.

Reportedly, Ortega is not the only one who wants to see Wednesday Season 3 focus on developing mother-daughter relationships. Catherine Zeta-Jones, who plays Wednesday’s mother in the Netflix series, also wants the upcoming season of the Netflix series to explore the dynamics between Morticia Addams and her own mother. “Now that we’ve introduced the wonderful Joanna Lumley as my mother, I’d like to tell more about that story. We left it on a bit of a cliffhanger, but what was it that got to that situation? And how, as a mother, I don’t want that to happen in this relationship [with Wednesday],” the Welsh actress remarked.

While Netflix has yet to confirm a precise release date for the third season of Wednesday, fans can expect the next installment of the hit show to premiere sometime in 2027.
