James Gunn, David Corenswet, and Nicholas Hoult broke the internet recently when they announced Superman 2, titled Man of Tomorrow, the sequel to the critically acclaimed and commercially successful Superman. Since then, fans have been wondering about the heroes that could appear in the upcoming film. The movie is set to soar into theaters on July 9, 2027.

Justice Gang Heroes
The Justice Gang, consisting of Green Lantern, Hawkgirl, and Mister Terrific, played important roles in the first Superman film, where they were established as close allies to the Man of Steel. Metamorpho later joined their ranks at the end of the film.
Thus, all four could show up in Man of Tomorrow and possibly help Superman in his fight against Lex Luthor. They may also be joined by new members as the Justice Gang has started looking for recruits in Peacemaker Season 2. Notably, Isabela Merced teased her reprisal as Hawkgirl in the sequel. She reshared Gunn’s post about the film on her Instagram stories and wrote, “See you sooon.”
Supergirl and Krypto
Supergirl and Krypto, who are set to go on their own space adventure in 2026’s Supergirl, could return to Earth by the end of that film. They could then join Superman in Man of Tomorrow as he goes up against Lex Luthor and other enemies.
Peacemaker
John Cena’s Peacemaker was integrated into the DC Universe in Peacemaker Season 2. A rumor from Nexus Point News suggests that he will have a role in Man of Tomorrow.
John Stewart’s Green Lantern
Aaron Pierre, who will make his DCU debut as John Stewart/Green Lantern in Lanterns, commented “Yes, indeed!” under Gunn’s Instagram post about Man of Tomorrow. Thus, he has hinted at a possible appearance in the film.
Wonder Woman or Batman?
Gunn earlier revealed in a Rolling Stone interview that a Wonder Woman film was being prioritized. Thus, she could potentially show up in this film. Further, Gunn’s Batman could also appear in Man of Tomorrow to set up The Brave and the Bold.
