The new Gundam Card Game launched today, and you may be having trouble finding stock. Finding out where to buy the starter decks that just released is proving to be a pain for some TCG fans, and it’s not just because of scalpers. Instead, it’s Bandai’s unique distribution methods that are making the cards hard to find.
Where can I find the Gundam Card Game in stock?
One thing that’s making it hard to find Gundam Card Game products in stock is that they’re not available at big-box stores or online retailers. That means you can’t get the Gundam TCG at Walmart, Target, Best Buy, GameStop, Amazon, etc. It’s likely that the game will eventually come to those locations, but for now, it’s only being distributed to stores that are a part of the Bandai TCG+ program.
The easiest way to find the Gundam TCG in stock is to go to the Bandai TCG+ store search and enter your region and state/province/prefecture. There are 2,888 Bandai TCG+ stores in the United States alone, which means you’re likely to be close to at least one retailer that carries the Gundam Card Game.
What Gundam Card Game products are available?
July 11 marked the official launch of the Gundam Card Game, but only the starter decks released that day. The first set, Newtype Rising, doesn’t release until July 25. As of writing, the following products are available:
- Heroic Beginnings (ST01) Starter Deck
- Wings of Advance (ST02) Starter Deck
- Zeon’s Rush (ST03) Starter Deck
- Seed Strike (ST04) Starter Deck
Note that these come in standard and special editions, which come with three Gundam Assemble models. From initial reports, it seems like the stock for the latter is much more limited, and not all retainers got both variations.
If you’re not able to score any starter decks, don’t sweat it. Bandai hasn’t given any indication that this is a limited product (unlike some Gunpla). So, it’s likely that more will be shipped in the coming weeks.
