Why Dae-ho Didn’t Bring Ammo in Squid Game Season 2?

Curious about why Dae-Ho (Player 388) didn’t bring ammo in Squid Game Season 2? Although he earlier claimed to be a former Marine, it’s revealed later that he served as Social Services Personnel due to not being mentally fit. During the rebellion, he sided with Gi-Hun’s team. When the team was running low on ammo, he volunteered to get more for them. But he eventually betrays, which leads to the rebellion’s failure. But why did Dae-Ho go against Gi-Hun at the last moment?

Here are all the details.

Here’s why Dae-ho didn’t bring Ammo in Squid Game Season 2’s rebellion

Dae-Ho panicked while retrieving the ammunition, as he had lied about his military background earlier. When he fails to return, Hyun-ju is sent to bring the supplies. Gi-Hun confronts him about his betrayal. That’s when he opens up, revealing that he lied about his background to team up with Gi-Hun and survive.

Dae-Ho’s betrayal didn’t sit well with Gi-Hun, who desperately wanted to seek revenge on him. That opportunity popped up right in the next game, Hide & Seek. In it, Gi-Hun was part of the red group, which would hunt the blue group, which Dae-Ho was part of.

The game witnessed Gi-Hun chasing Dae-Ho for answers to why he didn’t deliver the ammo. As he finally gets to confront him, Dae-Ho breaks the silence, revealing that he had a panic attack when he went to retrieve ammunition. He froze and was unable to participate in the fight. His confession did not affect Gi-Hun. He perceived Dae-Ho’s moves as a betrayal, which caused the loss of many lives.

In exchange, Dae-Ho also didn’t hold back and shifted the blame for the rebellion’s failure on Gi-Hun. A furious Gi-Hun then does the unthinkable. He kills Dae-Ho in the hide-and-seek game. What makes it so horrific is that he was the first person he killed in the game.
