Wondering what the Superman 2025 steelbook looks like? Well, Amazon has revealed a picture of the movie’s steelbook with the blue and white case being a limited-edition collectible item. From what we can tell, the official steelbook seems only to be available for the 4K Ultra HD version of the film and not for the standard DVD or Blu-ray versions. Here’s a quick look at the special Superman steelbook to see whether this is something you want to buy once it becomes available for pre-order.
A sneak peek of the Superman 2025 limited-edition steelbook
The Superman 2025 steelbook for 4K Ultra HD features the entryway to the Fortress of Solitude with Superman and Krypto entering through the gate and comes with a sleeve that has the gate closed but showing the full Superman logo emblazoned on the front.
The back of the steelbook shows off the crystalline structure of the fortress, while the art on the inside of the case shows a better shot of Superman in his red, yellow, and deep blue suit against the light blue background. The main disc for the movie is coated in red while another disc, which most likely features bonus content, is yellow.
At the time of writing, the Amazon entry for the steelbook says that it is “temporarily out of stock,” so it’s not available for purchase or pre-order at the moment. Since the entry notes that the item is the “Superman (4K Ultra HD Steelbook + Digital),” it’s possible that customers can get the steelbook with a digital code for the movie instead of the two discs.
Clicking on the tabs to view the regular Blu-ray and DVD versions of the film show doesn’t show what the case will look like for them — it’s merely a poster for Superman 2025 that assures that pre-orders will be available soon. That said, the Blu-ray SKU is 2.8 ounces and the DVD SKU is 2.6 ounces, compared to the 4K Ultra HD SKU being 7.7 ounces. That means the steelbook is nearly three times the weight of its counterparts.
No pricing has been revealed so far for the Superman 2025 steelbook yet. But the Collector’s Edition Thunderbolts* steelbook combo goes for around $55 on Amazon and the Captain America: Brave New World steelbook goes for around $40, so that should provide a ballpark estimate on how much the Superman steelbook will cost.
Box office projections for Superman 2025 have lowered in the weeks before the film’s release on July 11, but James Gunn says that the film doesn’t need to make as much as people says it does for it to be a hit.
