Dan Da Dan Season 2 opened with plenty of exciting additions, including the introduction of the Kito Family, the primary antagonists in the manga’s Cursed House Arc. The very intriguing set of characters attempts something audacious and ends up becoming the victim of a cruel fate.
But their attempted sacrifice leaves Momo, Jiji, and Okarun stuck in another realm.
Who is the Kito Family in Dan Da Dan Season 2?
Dan Da Dan Season 2 introduces the Kito family quite early on when Momo is attacked by some creepy individuals. She manages to get out of the mess with the help of Turbo Granny, but it is later revealed that the five men who attacked her were members of the Kito family.
The manga lore states that they are a family who performs sacrifices to the Tsuchinoko to keep the creature from destroying their village.
Momo also finds this out in the episode of Dan Da Dan when she visits the Tsuchinoko shrine. There, Momo learns about the belief that a volcano would erupt if the giant snake became hungry. This prompted villagers to offer children as sacrifices to keep the snake appeased.
Back in the house, Okarun and Jiji receive visitors in the form of the Kito family. This also includes the Kito matriarch, Naki Kito. The group interrogates Jiji and Okarun and does not take kindly to lying.
When Momo reaches Jiji’s house, she discovers the Kito family, along with Okarun and Jiji knocked out on the floor. As Momo tries and fails to take down so many of them, it is revealed that the Kito family is one of the families that have been making offerings to the Great Serpent at the volcano so it would not harm the village. Moreover, the spot they were standing in was exactly the house where the family made sacrifices to the snake.
The Kito family decides to offer Momo, Jiji, and Okarun as a sacrifice for the snake. Momo’s surroundings turn into quicksand as they tumble down to another side, landing on what appears to be a giant snake.
Does the Kito Family die in Season 2 Episode 1?
As the whole group emerges on the other side, the Kito family members start performing a ritual for the huge snake to eat the offerings. But the snake does not seem to care about the ritual and eats the Kito family first.
So, yes, the Kito Family dies at the end of Dan Da Dan Season 2. Moreover, the fates of Jiji, Okarun, and Momo are also not very clear, as they still have to escape the realm of this giant snake.
