Who Is Cugino aka Cousin John King in Marvel? Powers Explained

Ironheart introduced a horde of legendary Marvel characters, including the often overlooked Cugino, also known as Cousin John King, who happens to be a prominent character in the comics. The cousin of The Hood and his trusted comrade is an important character in the comics and has quite an arc.

In Ironheart, his role may have been limited, but John King could go on to become a significant adversary. Here’s everything to know about him.

Cugino John in Marvel comics and Ironheart explained, What are the powers of John King?

John King, also known as Cugino, recently made his debut in the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe) in Ironheart. In the series, the story reveals nothing about his background except that he took in Parker Robbins when Parker was alone. He and Parker went on to form The Hood Gang, which is a primary part of the Marvel series.

Apart from that, there is not much of a role for John in the MCU yet. In the comics, however, he can prove to be a daunting adversary. In the comics, he works closely with Parker Robbins in most story arcs and is an expert in providing tips about places to rob and valuable merchandise.

John King has no superhuman powers, strictly speaking. However, this changed when Thanos chose King to lead a new Zodiac team as Cancer. Ambitious people formed the team, all willing to conquer the world. As part of Cancer, John King had a suit that gave him the appearance of a humanoid crab. This made him quite a powerful villain when he worked for Thanos.

In the MCU, this will be an unlikely prospect since Thanos is already dead in the universe. However, John King could potentially still be an interesting character in the future of the MCU.

All six episodes of Ironheart are now streaming on Disney+.
