Jurassic World Rebirth Easter Eggs With Jurassic Park References Listed

Jurassic World Rebirth is finally here, and it has plenty of things for the fans of the Jurassic Park franchise, including some great easter eggs and references that go back to the previous movies. The film has paid tribute to some of the most iconic scenes from the original trilogy, while also incorporating some references to the source material.

Here is a breakdown of major Jurassic Park references and easter eggs in Jurassic World Rebirth.

All major easter eggs in Jurassic World Rebirth

The Michael Crichton homage

A hard-to-spot reference, Jurassic World Rebirth pays a clever homage to Michael Crichton, who wrote the 1990 novel, Jurassic Park, that served as the source material for the first film in the franchise. In an early scene, Krebs passes a school bus that has the words “Crichton Middle School” on it.

Recurring rear-view mirror shots

Rear-view mirrors have previously played a major role in the Jurassic Park franchise. Few would forget the iconic T. rex chase scene from the 1993 movie. Jurassic World Rebirth introduces Martin Klebs (Rupert Friend) in the same manner.

The flare to distract dinosaurs

There was also a major throwback to the original Jurassic Park, where Ian Malcolm distracted a T. rex with a flare. Towards the end of the new movie, Duncan Kincaid (Mahershala Ali) does the same, where he distracts the Distortus rex and allows the rest of his crew to escape.

“When Dinosaurs Ruled the Earth” banner

The most prominent easter egg in Jurassic World Rebirth, the “When Dinosaurs Ruled the Earth” banner, is shown when Dr. Henry Loomis (Jonathan Bailey) is introduced in the Museum of Natural History. The banner floats behind a T. rex skull. This is a throwback to the iconic ending of Jurassic Park, when a T. rex took out two velociraptors.

The Alan Grant callback

While not exclusively outlined, Dr. Henry Loomis is evidently the new generation Alan Grant. There are multiple similarities between the two. Moreover, the movie reveals that Loomis studied under Grant.

With all these references and easter eggs, Jurassic World Rebirth makes for a fantastic watch, especially for long-time fans of the Jurassic Park franchise. The movie is now playing in the theaters.
