Squid Game Season 3: Why [Spoiler] Didn’t Kill Herself & Where She Went at the End

Squid Game Season 3 had many fascinating turns at the final moments, which also included Pink Guard 011 Kang No-eul’s (Park Gyu-young) sudden change of heart after witnessing Gi-hun’s selfless sacrifice. In the end, Kang No-eul also became another person saved by Gi-hun as she walked away and chose life in a huge turn of events.

Here is a complete breakdown of what happened with Pink Guard 011 Kang No-eul at the end of Squid Game Season 3.

Did Pink Guard 011, Kang No-eul, die at the end of Season 3?

No, Pink Guard 011 Kang No-eul did not die at the end of Squid Game Season 3. Though it looked like death was her ultimate fate, there was something that changed her mind during the finale of the Netflix show.

In the final season of Squid Game, Kang No-eul went on a rebellious spree, even killing her superior to save Gyeong-seok (Lee Jin-uk). No-eul even smuggled Gyeong-seok out and set the records room on fire.

She was under the impression that her husband and daughter had died after her escape from North Korea. She had given up all hopes of living and was ready to give up her life when she witnessed Gi-hun’s sacrifice to save Player 222’s baby in the last game. It seems that witnessing this act made No-eul believe in humanity again, and she chose to live.

Squid Game creator Hwang Dong-hyuk also shed light on her character in an interview with Netflix, adding, “She’s someone whose inner light has all but faded, drifting deeper into the night. A flicker of hope and pull towards life reignites within No-eul. I wanted to show her rising again, reclaiming her will to live, and giving life another shot.”

Where did Kang No-eul go at the end?

No-eul was in search of her daughter for years, and only worked as the Pink Guard 011 because it helped her get closer to her objective. But what she found in the record room indicated that her husband and daughter may have already died.

But she still chose to continue with her life. Moreover, her actions in saving Gyeong-seok led to the destruction of the island, which means she did find some form of redemption as the games on that island ended for good.

At the end of the finale, she is seen checking on Gyeong-seok at the amusement park once again before being informed that her daughter may still be alive in China. She is then seen leaving to go and find her.

Squid Game Season 3 is now streaming on Netflix.
