Eager to know more about the Marvel movies that could come out in 2028? The MCU’s Phase 6 is set to begin with the release of The Fantastic Four: First Steps on July 25. It will ultimately come to an end with Avengers: Secret Wars in December 2027. Ahead of this slate’s closure, the studios have disclosed their plans for their next projects after the Multiverse saga. They announced untitled projects scheduled for release in February, May, November, and December 2028. If these release dates do not move, then the following list could reveal the four potential movies for 2028.
List of upcoming movies that Marvel could release in 2028’s MCU Phase 7 Slate
Black Panther 3:
Marvel boss Kevin Feige has already confirmed that Black Panther 3 will happen, with Ryan Coogler returning to direct. Denzel Washington is set to be a part of this sequel. In a recent episode of the 7 PM in Brooklyn podcast, Coogler praised Washington and expressed his long-standing desire to work with him. He said, “Denzel is family at this point. I know his incredible wife, Pauletta. I know his children, John David, Katia, [and] Malcolm. I’ve been trying to work with him since day one.”
Fantastic Four 2
Variety reported that Marvel has added a fourth film to its Phase 7 roster, which happens to be the sequel to Fantastic Four. The film is currently in development and could be released in 2028 after the Multiverse saga ends.
Blade or The Midnight Sons
Blade, which was first announced in 2019 and originally set to release in 2023, has since faced multiple delays. It was later pushed to November 2025, but its fate remains uncertain. There is a chance it could be further delayed to a 2028 release.
On the other hand, insider Daniel Richtman claimed that Marvel Studios has major plans for Ghost Rider’s debut, with the character potentially leading the rumored Midnight Sons movie. Either Blade or Midnight Sons is expected to be added to Marvel’s 2028 release slate.
X-Men, Thor 5, Doctor Strange 3, or Shang-Chi 2
Variety reported that Marvel Studios is currently eyeing Thunderbolts director Jake Schreier to helm the MCU’s first mutant movie. Therefore, the X-Men film is likely to happen. However, if it does not release in 2028, then it could be replaced by Doctor Strange 3, Shang-Chi 2, or Thor 5.
