Why Demon Slayer Season 5 Release Date Won’t Happen

As the fourth season of Demon Slayer concluded last year, fans are wondering why Season 5 is not happening. Following the conclusion of the previous season’s Hashira Training storyline, many fans are curious how the series will continue next. However, it won’t be with a new season.

Why there won’t be a Demon Slayer Season 5 release date

Instead of another season, the Demon Slayer finale will be split into three movies.

The first film in the final trilogy is titled Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Infinity Castle. It will first arrive in Japan on July 18, 2025, before its premiere in the United States and the United Kingdom on September 12.

The fourth season of Demon Slayer aired its eighth and final episode on June 30, 2024, adapting the entire Hashira Training Arc from the 15th and 16th volumes of the original manga. The first of the three-part movie series is set to kick off the Final Battle arc, which splits into Infinity Castle and Sunrise Countdown. It will see Tanjiro and the Demon Slayer Corps face off against Demon King Muzan Kibutsuji in an ultimate showdown.

Crunchyroll dropped the teaser trailer for the movie on March 5 this year, giving fans a sneak peek at what’s in store. The 30-second clip features a glimpse into Tanjiro’s rage-filled strike against Muzan and the bizarre titular castle, showcasing the impeccable animation that the show is famous for.

Haruo Sotozaki returns as the director for Infinity Castle with Ufotable providing the screenplay. Although the movie hasn’t officially made any cast announcements yet, we expect the VAs from the original series to reprise their roles. This includes Natsuki Hanae and Zach Aguilar as Tanjiro, Akari Kito and Abby Trott as Nezuko, Hiro Shimono and Aleks Le as Zenitsu, Yoshitsugu Matsuoka and Bryce Papenbrook as Inosuke, and more.
