Fans have been clamoring for an official Stranger Things Season 5 trailer for years now, and many believe that a teaser will finally release soon. There have been many rumors over the last few years that Netflix would drop a trailer at some point, all to no avail, but this time might be different. Here’s why fans believe a Stranger Things teaser trailer will drop within a few days.
When do fans expect The Stranger Things teaser trailer for Season 5 to release?
It’s expected that a Stranger Things trailer for Season 5 will release on May 31 during the Netflix Tudum event that begins at 5 PM PT / 8 PM ET.
While a trailer drop for the show has not been confirmed by Netflix (at the time of writing), the upcoming live event features a long list of special guest stars, including five of the kids (well, young adults really) from Stranger Things. This includes actors Millie Bobby Brown (Eleven), Caleb McLaughlin (Lucas Sinclair), Finn Wolfhard (Mike Wheeler), Gaten Matarazzo (Dustin Henderson), and Noah Schnapp (Will Byers). Fans speculate that Netflix would not invite these five main stars from the show to the event if the company didn’t have something special to reveal, like a Season 5 teaser trailer.
The timing also makes sense of course. If Netflix is not going to release a Stranger Things trailer at Tudum this year, then when would they? If insider reports are true that the series is coming out near the end of 2025, this would be the best time to drop it. At the bare minimum, even if it would be disappointing, there should be a new poster for the show.
We know a little bit about the final season of the hit Netflix series so far, especially that production for Season 5 has wrapped and that the episodes throughout the season are expected to release in batches from late 2025 to early 2026.
Other cast members who have been confirmed to return for Season 5 are Sadie Sink, David Harbour, Maya Hawke, Natalia Dyer, Joe Keery, Charlie Heaton, Priah Ferguson, Jamie Campbell Bower, and Winona Ryder. Adding to the cast are Linda Hamilton, Alex Breaux, Jake Connelly, and Nell Fisher, with Hamilton’s role still being a mystery.
