How Did Bix Caleen Find Dr. Gorst in Andor Season 2? Episode 6 Ending Explained

Some viewers are confused about how Bix Caleen finds Dr. Gorst in Andor Season 2, specifically in the ending of Episode 6. The finale of the second batch of episodes in the second season moves quickly, and not much is shown in terms of any planning by Bix and Cassian. As a result, some fans feel as though that the final scene, as satisfying as it is, is rushed and too unexpected. But the episode does lay the groundwork for the shocking conclusion, though the details are brushed past at a rapid pace. (Warning: Spoilers ahead!)

How did Bix & Cassian locate and kill Dr. Gorst?

It is suggested that Bix and Cassian are able to locate and assassinate Dr. Gorst due to information from Lonni that was passed through to Luthen.

As much as the ISB supervisor Lonni squirms as an informant for Luthen, he’s actually a deft spy. In fact, if he wasn’t so good at his job, he would have likely been killed by Luthen at this point. In an earlier scene in Episode 6, Partagaz finds Lonni and Heert at ISB headquarters and tells them that Military Intelligence has been interested in the interrogation techniques of Dr. Gorst and that his work is going to be expanded into a program, with the Navy donating a facility in Coruscant toward that effort. While Heert is enthusiastic, Partagaz tells him the now infamous line “Calibrate your enthusiasm” before Lonni quickly pawns off leadership of this program to Heert.

He then rushes away from the conversation before Heert can react to the information. It is then implied that Lonni tells Luthen about the program, particularly since the art dealer already told him to quicken the pace of intel. Not too soon after, Bix sees that a tower begins flashing, signaling that there’s another mission.

From Luthen’s standpoint, getting rid of Dr. Gorst would be an immediate concern since he doesn’t need his interrogation techniques to be widely disseminated throughout the Empire and he can tell that Bix needs to get in on the action. Having her get rid of Dr. Gorst by her own hands will hopefully give her relief and make her stop taking whatever blue liquid she’s using.

It’s unclear how Bix and Cassian infiltrate the former Navy facility so quickly, but knowing their skillset, it’s not too large of a leap to see Bix be able to sneak into his office and for Cassian to plant bombs in the building. Both of them would be certainly motivated, given the torture Bix took from Dr. Gorst in the first season. We can only hope that this will help her cope with the nightmares in the latter half of Season 2.
