As of now, Maya Pei hasn’t appeared on screen in Andor Season 2, and it is still unknown which actor will play her if she appears.
Despite this, her character is very much part of the story. The series teases her legacy through conversations and flashbacks, building curiosity around the rebel leader whose name has already echoed through Star Wars lore. Andor Season 1 previously mentioned Maya Pei’s name. Both Dedra Meero of the ISB and Saw Gerrera refer to her, with Saw dismissing her as a “Neo-Republican” and criticizing her tactics.
In Legends, Maya Pei was a former security officer for Senator Bail Organa during the Clone Wars. She later joined the Alderaanian Resistance. While her current canon backstory is still developing, it’s clear she leads a tough rebel cell.
Who is the Maya Pei Brigade?
The Maya Pei Brigade is introduced in Andor Season 2 as a desperate group of survivors hiding on Yavin 4. Cassian Andor arrives on the moon to drop off a stolen TIE Avenger and immediately stumbles into their camp, where they take him prisoner.
Mistaking him for an Imperial pilot, the Brigade doesn’t trust his explanation — or that he’s fighting the same war as them. The Maya Pei Brigade itself is a shadow of what it once was. They’ve been marooned after a failed battle. Now, they must fend off jungle beasts and cling to hope that their comrades and leader will return.
