Why Fans Think Fantastic Four’s Earth Will Die in First Steps

A new trailer for The Fantastic Four: First Steps was released recently, offering more glimpses at the upcoming MCU reboot of Marvel’s First Family. It also gave fans their first official look at Julia Garner’s Silver Surfer.

Silver Surfer ominously warned the eponymous protagonists about Earth being marked for death. As such, a flurry of queries have been making their way online, asking if the Fantastic Four’s Earth will die in their debut MCU entry.

Will the Fantastic Four’s earth die in First Steps?

It remains to be seen whether the Fantastic Four’s earth will die in First Steps.

As such, fans will only find out for certain once the film releases. However, the two trailers heavily hint at their world being destroyed. In both trailers, the Fantastic Four see burning meteors arriving on earth. This is the first major sign that their earth will likely get destroyed. Additionally, Galactus’ impending arrival is also depicted — another major sign that their earth’s decimation is imminent.

The latest trailer offers three more reasons why fans believe the Fantastic Four’s earth will get destroyed. The first reason is Julia Garner’s Silver Surfer warning the Fantastic Four that their planet has been marked for death. As for the second reason, a shot in the trailer showcases the Fantastic Four’s earth exploding. Meanwhile, another shot shows their earth shutting down.

In addition, the events of Fantastic Four: The First Steps are expected to lead into Avengers: Doomsday, set in the main MCU timeline, where the team will play pivotal roles. In Doomsday, the Fantastic Four will work with the Avengers to restore their Earth and universe or prevent the collapse of other universes.

The Fantastic Four: First Steps is scheduled to be theatrically released on July 25, 2025. Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Ebon-Moss Bachrach, and Joseph Quinn headline the film. Supporting cast members include Ralph Ineson, Julia Garner, Paul Walter Hauser, Natasha Lyonne, and John Malkovich, among many others.
