Why Fans Think Sadie Sink Is Playing Menace in Spider-Man 4

Tom Holland recently revealed at CinemaCon that Spider-Man 4 will be titled Brand New Day. Following this, fans have begun to speculate that it would be based on ‘One More Day’ comics, whose villain was Menace. With Sadie Sink having been announced to join the roster for a key role, many suspect that she might play the female antagonist in the upcoming installment.

So, are the speculations true? Here are all the details.

Is Sadie Sink playing Lily Hollister aka Menace in Spider-Man 4: Brand New Day?

There are no confirmed reports about Sink portraying Lily Hollister, a.k.a Menace.

The rumors started recently when Sony revealed the title of Holland’s fourth outing, Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Industry insider MyTimeToShineHello thinks its plot will center around Spider-Man’s adventures with a new status quo in place after the One More Day storyline, and could take inspiration from Dan Slott’s other story of the same name, “Brand New Day.”

In it, the web-head confronts a female supervillain called Menace. For those uninitiated, she is also known as Lily Hollister, the ex-fiancée of Harry Osborn and a member of the Goblin Underground. In March 2025, Deadline reported that the Stranger Things star is joining the MCU in an undisclosed role.

The report described her character as “significant.” With the latest hints on storyline, fans have already begun to speculate that Sink might play Menace. However, there are no confirmed reports at the moment.

Previously, there were also rumors about Sink playing an X-Men character, Jean Grey. Addressing the rumors on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, Sink acknowledged that the rumors are “cool” but refused to give any details on her potential role in the MCU.

She said, “Yes (on people asking her about playing Jean Grey). This is news to me… No, I have nothing to say about this.” The actress further added, “The rumors are really cool, though. It’s an awesome rumor… Yeah, I know the character. It’s a great character, so it was cool to read. I think that’s super exciting (on committing to a 10-year Marvel role).”

The project will begin filming in the Summer of 2025, as revealed by Holland on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, Spider-Man: Brand New Day is slated to release on July 31, 2026.
