What Happens to Powerplex in Invincible Season 3 & Comics?

Viewers are eager to know if Powerplex, voiced by Aaron Paul, dies or survives in Invincible Season 3 and the comics. Known as Scott Duvall, he is a formidable antagonist who has bad blood with Mark Grayson, resulting from Invincible and Omni-Man’s heated battle in Chicago. In S0306, he returns to seek revenge on Mark Grayson, engaging with him in a dangerous battle. The storyline appears to share a bit of similarity with one of Powerplex’s arcs in the comics.

Does Powerplex die in Invincible Season 3 and the comics?

No, Powerplex doesn’t die in Invincible Season 3 and the comics.

Throughout Episode 6, Powerplex attempts to bring Invincible to his knees, using his advanced technology and blast of powers. The duo engages in an intense fight. However, it doesn’t end the way Powerplex wanted it to, and his hatred continues to grow for Mark with the episode’s conclusion. In the end, he is put behind bars in the GDA prison.

In the comics, these similar moments lead to his surprising arc, as he is sent to the Stronghold Penitentiary after unintentionally killing his wife and son. At the time, he took an oath to avenge the deaths and punish Invincible for his deeds. He intends to spend his time in prison, researching about all the innocent people who lost their lives because of Mark.

He promises that he won’t stay contained in the prison for long and would return to seek revenge on him. Despite being stripped of his powers, he remains assured that someday, some guard will come, hit him, and grace him with the energy he needs to escape. During Issue #60, he eventually escapes the prison during the Invincible War and attacks him in Issue #61. In it, Mark and other heroes attempt to take him down. Later, he runs out of energy and is sent to prison once again.

Issue #81 sees Powerplex’s redemption arc. He attacks Mark again after discovering his alleged involvement in Las Vegas’ destruction. Amid their fight, Mark helps him to see him through his hate, making him accept that he was responsible for his own family’s demise. Eventually, he accepts the truth and seeks forgiveness from Invincible.
