SDCC 2022 Exclusive Masters of the Universe Figures by Mattel, Mondo

San Diego Comic-Con typically does very well by Masters of the Universe. It’s where the Classics line debuted, and Origins after that. Both lines kicked off with convention exclusives. And now it looks like the next iteration of the line will become this year’s big SDCC 2022 exclusive — the 40th anniversary He-Man and Skeletor. We’ve already seen the 40th He-Man revealed for retail; Skeletor’s exclusive to this set for now (but not likely forever).

He-Man and Skeletor utilize a version of the Masterverse body with with more classic proportions, like a broader chest. Skeletor also boasts an articulated jaw. This exclusive He-Man features furry flocking on his loincloth and boot tops, and both figures come with diecast weapons and secret-compartment ring. The set also includes two reproduction mini-comics.

And that’s not all for He-Man. A Mega Construx exclusive features the facade of Castle Grayskull, along with a transforming feature. Flip a dial to replace Prince Adam with He-Man! The included He-man is a Revelation version, with cel-shading deco and the “H”-logo harness. Adam remains the classic, bulked-up Adam. The box folds out into a diorama depicting the rest of the castle.

Not to be outdone, Mondo will have an exclusive 12-inch Revelation Skeletor figure. Based on the Netflix animation look, he’ll come with multiple faces and hands. Skeletor goes up for preorder July 20 at Mondoshop.com. The Mattel exclusives will sell at Comic-Con, and also online at Mattel Creations starting July 22 at 9 a.m. pacific time. (And probably ending about a minute later.)
