Marvel Legends Debuts 20th Anniversary Figure and Retros Wave 4

Marvel Legends Debuts 20th Anniversary Figure and Retros Wave 4

Seems hard to believe, but next spring marks the 20th anniversary of Marvel Legends. Now one of Hasbro‘s evergreen flagship lines, the concept began under Toy Biz. There, it got the go-ahead after a super-articulated line of Spider-Man classics proved a hit with fans. Now, to celebrate the milestone, Hasbro will release a special. 20th anniversary figure, and give themselves a chance to do-over Toy Biz’s work. Furthermore, the “Marvel Legends Series 1” Captain America includes a figure backdrop and stand to mimic the original diorama base. Along with upgraded articulation, bonus unmasked head, extra hands, and energy effects.

And just when fans had adjusted to the $26.49 deluxe figure price tag, this one ups it to $31.49. Bases aren’t as cheap as they used to be. But if 6-inch figures trend too pricey, Hasbro presents an alternative. The 3-3/4-inch retro line, meant to mimic Kenner figures of the ’80s, will unleash a fourth wave this October, at a more affordable $11.99 each. Entertainment Earth has the full wave, which includes Loki, Silver Surfer, Stealth Armor Iron Man, Symbiote costume Spider-Man, Storm, and USAgent. The 20th anniversary figure, however, should be added at a later date, and will be an online fan channel exclusive.
