LEGO pulled off the nigh-impossible last year with a Star Wars Holiday Special, reclaiming that title from the ill-fated live-action TV variety show of many decades ago. This year, they won’t just stop at
Christmas Life Day. Whatever Halloween is called in the Star Wars universe…that’s getting a special too, come October 1, on Disney Plus. And now the LEGO Star Wars Terrifying Tales trailer has arrived.
This time, it doesn’t seem that any original cast members will appear. Jake Green voices Poe Dameron, who finds himself at Darth Vader’s castle on Mustafar. The fortress last seen onscreen in Rogue One now exists as a tourist trap, complete with wonky animatronics. The Palpatine-like Vaneé (Tony Hale) serves as host, and he’s in a Crypt Keeper-like role as a spinner of spooky yarns. Well, maybe not too spooky considering it’s just LEGO. Take a look:

Of the three stories he tells, two appear based on canon: the revival of Maul by the Nightsisters, and Kylo Ren’s turn to the dark side. The third, however, looks like a Monkey’s Paw riff, in which Luke Skywalker must beware the unexpected drawbacks of granted wishes.
LEGO Star Wars Terrifying Tales stars Jake Green as Poe Dameron; Raphael Alejandro as Dean, Dana Snyder as Graballa the Hutt, Tony Hale as Vaneé, Christian Slater as Ren, Trevor Devall as Emperor Palpatine, Mary Elizabeth McGlynn as NI-L8, and Matt Sloan as Darth Vader.
