Hot Wheels’ SDCC Exclusive is Spider-Man’s Spider Machine GP-7

In the ’70s, Marvel briefly introduced the Spider-Mobile to the pages of Amazing Spider-Man. But in Japan, Spidey had a completely different ride. As part of the Japanese Spider-Man TV series, motocross racer Takuya Yamashiro has his own tricked out spider-themed car. Next month, Mattel’s Hot Wheels is giving fans at Comic-Con a chance to grab the Spider Machine GP-7!

Via Marvel.com, the Spider Machine GP-7 has been reproduced “in 1/64 scale, with full die-cast construction and Real Riders wheels.” Within the show, Takuya built the car after he was given spider-powers by aliens. He equipped the vehicle with “machine guns and missile launchers,” among other weapons. Sadly, this collectible doesn’t turn into Spidey’s giant robot, Leopardon. But it does come in an attractive package.

Takuya Yamashiro and Leopardon were introduced to Peter Parker and the rest of the Spider-Men in 2014’s Spider-Verse crossover. They also returned in 2018 for the Spider-Geddon crossover as well.

Mattel has set a $15 price for this collectible, and it can be pre-ordered online here. Fans at Comic-Con will also be able to pick it up at the Mattel booth starting on July 17.
