Scooper ‘Rollout’ sent Superhero Hype! this report from Irvine, California (Spoiler ahead!):
Iron Man filmed today in Irvine, CA. They used the lobby of our building for an interior shot with hundreds of extras. The lobby was converted into Stark Industries, and Robert Downey Jr. spent the day standing on a podium, taking questions from “reporters” in a mock press conference. It’s amazing how much work has to be done beforehand for a simple shot like this. Months of preparation, scaffolding, power generators, lights, skrims, and miles of huge power cables – all for a 2 minute scene. No wonder a films budget reaches 100 million in 2 seconds flat.
Iron Man hits theaters on May 2, 2008.
