Variety reports that The Incredibles helmer Brad Bird has been named ShoWest’s animation director of the year.
In addition to directing the Disney/Pixar animated superhero movie, which has now grossed $625 million worldwide, Bird wrote and helmed 1999’s Iron Giant. He has also served as executive consultant on long-running animated TV shows The Simpsons and King of the Hill.
The award will be presented at the closing-night ceremony March 17 in Las Vegas.
