Genre stylist Guillermo Del Toro directs Hellboy, a live-action film adaptation of Mike Mignola’s Dark Horse horror comic about an enormous, red-skinned demon, bred by Nazi scientists and adopted by U.S. agents to fight the forces of darkness. Artists at Rick Baker’s Cinovation Studio provided makeup for the title character, while imaginative visual effects were supplied by Tippett Studio, Fantasy II and others.
