Marvel and Clover Press have partnered to acknowledge many great artists with high-end art books. This elite list includes Michael Turner, Tyler Kirkham, and Mike Allred, among others. Now, Dan dos Santos has become the latest artist to earn this honor.
Famed for his intricate oil paintings, Dan dos Santos is widely recognized as a great commercial artist. Beyond his work for Marvel Comics, he has produced artwork for Disney, Wizards of the Coast, Upper Deck, Activision, and DC Comics, among others. He has also won multiple industry awards and been nominated for Best Artist five times at the Hugo Awards.

The Marvel Art of Dan dos Santos Kickstarter Explained
Traditionally, Marvel and Clover Press have marked the release of these special art books with a Kickstarter drive. The release of The Marvel Art of Dan dos Santos is no exception. This offers fans a chance to secure a copy of the book and exclusive bonus items. These bonus items include 11″ x 17″ prints, 6” by 9” mini-prints, a signed slipcase edition, a dustjacket edition, stickers, a puzzle, and original sketches.
The book itself will be a 9″x12″ hardcover with over 200 pages. It will contain every piece Dan dos Santos painted for the 2022 Marvel Masterpieces trading card set. There are also several pieces from other trading card sets, as well as never-before-seen art, and behind-the-scenes material detailing dos Santos’ process.
“I’m incredibly excited about this new collection of my Marvel artwork,” said Dan dos Santos. “Over 30 years ago, as a young teen, it was my exposure to a similar collection of Marvel art that set me on the path of wanting to be a professional artist in the first place. So it is incredibly apt, and really thrilling, to see it all come full circle in this new collection of my own. This book represents years of work and contains hundreds of paintings that I feel are my finest work to date. I labored tirelessly to breathe as much life and backstory into each of these modern mythological heroes as I could. It is my hope that the next generation of young artists and fans will find these characters as inspiring as I found them so many years ago.”
