Marvel Has a New Spider-Man — And It Isn’t Peter Parker or Miles Morales

Marvel has a brand-new Spider-Man who isn’t Peter Parker or Miles Morales.

While Peter and Miles have both long held the Spider-Man mantle, a new version of everyone’s favorite web-headed superhero has just been introduced in Marvel ComicsVenom #251. The issue comes from writer Al Ewing, artist Paco Medina, color artist Frank D’Armata, and letterer VC’s Clayton Cowles.

Who is Marvel’s new Spider-Man?

In recent Marvel Comics lore, Mary Jane Watson has bonded with the Venom symbiote. The two of them are pursuing a villain; however, Venom is now a fugitive, so the two of them need to disguise themselves in order to blend in.

They first try to disguise themselves as Iron Man, though that plan doesn’t pan out as they had initially hoped. Still needing to be able to blend in, Mary Jane suggests they act as “the gooiest guy” they know. At that point, Mary Jane/Venom then emerge as a new venomized version of Spider-Man.

The solicitation for Venom #251 reads, “BREAK THE STREAK! Doc Ock is back — as Director of Operations for S.C.A.R.! And he’s got the all-new Toxin in his sights! Luke Cage isn’t happy — but will New York’s Mayor choose to side with human law… or symbiote justice? Plus — MJ gets a new gig! Venom gets a new look! And the rollicking return of Blue Streak!”

The storyline will continue in Venom #252, which will be released on December 2, 2025. The issue for that description states, “THE RUMORS ARE TRUE! Venom has a brand-new red-and-blue suit – and a brand new name to go with it! How will the people of New York react when they find out that the city’s newest Spider-Man is the SYMBIOTE they love to loathe? Luke Cage and Otto Octavius are ready to debate the matter — with their fists! PLUS: A bonus tale of the origin of an even All-NEWER Venom!”

Venom #251 features cover art by Carlos Gómez and Frank Martin and variant covers by Inhyuk Lee, Jerome Opeña, Puppeteer Lee, and Skan. The issue is on sale now wherever comic books are sold.
