One is a family of explorers whose adventures forever changed their world. The other is a clan of warriors who protect their world in secret. Both are based in Manhattan, despite their lives being very different. And yet, they will join together this fall in a Gargoyles / Fantastic Four comic book special.
The story will find key members of the Gargoyles‘ Manhattan clan invited to take a tour of the Baxter Building. This allows them to meet with the Fantastic Four under significantly more peaceful circumstances than is typical for either team. However, things quickly go wrong, and the heroes must join together against an alliance of their worst enemies. This includes Coldsteel, the Gargoyle also known as Yuri Topolov, and Annihilus.
“This is a tale of clan and family,” said Gargoyles creator Greg Weisman. “And it’s a thrill to get this opportunity to bring the first family of the Marvel Universe together with the Manhattan Clan. It feels right!”
Weisman will write the Gargoyles / Fantastic Four special. The artwork will be provided by artist George Kambadais and letterer Jeff Eckleberry. Both previously worked on the Dynamite Entertainment Gargoyles comic. The special will also feature covers by Lucio Parrillo, Mark Bagley, and Amanda Conner.
