Exclusive Preview – Devil’s Reign: X-Men #3

The Devil’s Reign event is near its conclusion, and Mayor Wilson Fisk is determined to crush all of New York’s superheroes. That includes his former ally, Emma Frost a.k.a. the White Queen. Years before joining the X-Men, Emma used her telepathic powers to undermine Fisk’s enemies. However, Fisk foresaw the possibility that Emma would turn against him one day. That’s why he acquired a photo that seemingly ties Emma to a missing and presumed dead girl named Isabelle.

In flashback, readers learned that Isabelle was marked for death because she saw Elektra kills someone for Fisk. As a favor to Elektra, Emma escorted Isabelle out of the country and set her up with a new life in England. To prove her innocence, Emma snuck into the United Kingdom to locate Isabelle. Unfortunately, Fisk also saw that coming. Additionally, the anti-mutant forces in England ambushed Emma with the help of Union Jack.

In Superhero Hype’s exclusive preview for Devil’s Reign: X-Men #3, Gerry Duggan and artist Phil Noto demonstrate why it’s a bad idea to underestimate a telepath. Emma won’t even spend a single moment behind bars, thanks to the local law enforcement officers who were a bit too lax about using their psi-dampeners. Regardless, Emma still needs to find Isabelle in order to clear her name.
