Netflix Renews The Umbrella Academy for a Third Season

As many fans anticipated, Netflix has renewed The Umbrella Academy for a third season. The sophomore season debuted last summer, and it kept the viewers hooked for its ten-episode run. The third season will include ten one-hour episodes and will be produced by UCP, a Universal Studio Group division, for Netflix. The streaming service expects production to begin in February in Toronto, Canada. Once again, Steve Blackman (Altered Carbon) will return as showrunner and executive producer.

The sophomore season followed the young superheroes as they travel in time back to Dallas in the Sixties. Even though they manage somehow to survive the apocalypse caused by Vanya, the end of the world followed them back in time. Once there, they attempted to prevent the end of the world. But things didn’t go according to their plan, and they altered the timeline once again. The third time is the charm, the saying goes. Perhaps, this time they will manage to save 2019 and their reality.
