Serial Box Launches Black Widow: Bad Blood Audio Drama

Before COVID-19 struck, Black Widow was supposed to hit theaters on May 3 and kick off the summer movie season. Sadly, this isn’t happening, but there’s another way for Marvel fans to get their fill of everyone’s favorite Russian assassin-turned-S.H.I.E.L.D. agent. Serial Box has released the first two episodes of their new audiobook series, Black Widow: Bad Blood.

According to the official description, the series follows Natasha Romanoff as she teams up with Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier to track down a mysterious adversary who stole samples of their blood. Given their shared involvement with the Red Room training facility, both characters will also be “confronting the demons of their past” throughout the story. Subsequent chapters will arrive on a weekly basis. Fans can also purchase the entire season for $9.99.

Sarah Natochenny, best known as the English voice actress for Ash Ketchum in Pokémon cartoons, is narrating the new story. The series was scripted by a team of writers led by Orphan Black: The Next Chapter scribe Lindsay Smith. Her writing staff also includes Margaret Dunlap, Mikki Kendall, L.L. McKinney, and Taylor Stevens.

Black Widow: Bad Blood isn’t Serial Box’s first foray into the Marvel Universe. In early 2019, Serial Box announced a partnership with Marvel that would also result in new stories featuring Black Panther, Jessica Jones, and Thor. Most recently, Serial Box released a series headlined by the God of Thunder titled Thor: Metal Gods. Other projects starring DC Comics characters are also reportedly in the works.

You can stream episodes of Black Widow: Bad Blood on the Serial Box app or website. Are you excited to check out the new series? Let us know in the comment section below!
